In 2014, Chongqing Hengtong Bus Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as “HENGTONG”) achieved a cheerful yet steady growth by taking advantage of its strength in new-energy bus and gas bus segments. In the second half of 2014, it was acquired and restructured by Sichuan Western Resources Holdings Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as “SWRH”). According to the future input plan of SWRH, HENGTONG will receive a long-term support in the new energy field, and will open a new chapter in 2015 and even in the next few years.

Focusing on researching and developing new-energy bus and achieving double results with gas bus in 2014

In 2014, new-energy bus became the main driving force in the industry under the promotion of favorable policies, though the bus market lacked of highlights. Therefore, HENGTONG dominated by quick charge technology in domestic bus industry has made great achievements in new-energy bus field in 2014.

In 2014, based on solid R&D technology and improved product series, HENGTONG’s “quick charge” new-energy products were not only popular in local areas of Chongqing, but also started to be put in practical service in Shenzhen, Jiuzhaigou, Guiyang, Zunyi, Deyang, Hohhot, Haikou, etc.

It’s worth mentioning that HENGTONG’s “quick charge” pure electric bus successfully passed the challenge of high altitude and was officially put into operation in Jiuzhaigou,Sichuanin 2014. It's reported that HENGTONG’s pure electric bus has continued running for 463 kilometers for 12 hours, completing commissioning by crossing high mountain at an altitude of 3,600 meters. In the whole process, the pure electric bus got through complex road conditions of “Liuhuitou”, “Jiudaoguai” and other sharp turns and ramps and overcame “altitude stress”, becoming the first pure electric large bus which continued running in a long distance for a long time without any stop during the whole journey and climbed over high mountain at an altitude of 3,600 meters. In October 2014, HENGTONG’s 12-meter “quick charge” pure electric bus went through one-month pilot run carrying passengers in Shenzhen and passed the comprehensive assessment on safety, climbing capability, dynamic property, etc, of bus actually running in urban area. As a result, passengers and users both speak highly of HENGTONG’s pure electric bus due to its stable performance.

Without reliable power battery system and mature quick charge technology, HENGTONG's “quick charge” pure electric bus would not be trusted by urban bus companies. The quick-charge battery system carried by its new-energy bus is manufactured by Chongqing Hengtong Electric Bus Power System Co., Ltd. The new-energy bus carrying such quick-charge battery system can shorten the time of charging to 10-15 minutes, saving several times of charging and waiting time compared with traditional pure electric bus and largely improving the operation efficiency of bus.

In addition, the gas bus that HENGTONG has always been proud of also became favored by passenger transport enterprises and urban bus companies in different places. Its introduced that as of the end of 2014, HENGTONG has put its gas buses into service in more than 100 small and medium-sized cities ofChinaand exported such buses to more than 20 countries. There have been over 40000 gas buses in domestic market. In the year of 2014, HENGTONG received batch orders of gas bus from Yibin of Sichuan, Xianyang,Baojiand Shuozhou of Shanxi, Chenzhou of Hunan, etc. and these gas buses were put into service successively in those places. HENGTONG has continued receiving big orders of gas bus in 2014. In June, HENGTONG deliver 80 air-conditioning gas buses (CKZ6116HN5) to Sichuan Yibin Urban Public Transport Co., Ltd. to provide more comfortable services for citizens in Yibin. And those gas buses became the few air-conditioning gas buses among vehicle types serving in Yibin. In July, Baoji Public Transport Group ordered 35 Hengtong gas buses (CKZ6116 NA4) in batch and has put them into daily service.

Besides, HENGTONG’s mini bus was also sold very well among public transport companies in different places due to its flexible “figure”. The reporter learnt thatKunminggovernment bought sold over 120 mini buses from HENGTONG to assist in transport line construction of communities and branch lines inKunmingin the first half of 2014. In November 2014, a public transport company inDali,Yunnanordered 20 mini buses (CKZ6590DA4) from HENGTONG to two urban branch lines of Dali, solving the problem of difficult transportation for citizens. WithinHeilongjiangProvince, over 130 Hengtong mini buses are in service.

Increasing sales volume in 2015 based on multiple policies with the focus still on new-energy bus

As ministries and commissions issued a new round of new-energy vehicle promotion policies, the development momentum of new-energy bus will become stronger and stronger in 2015. Xie Yuehong, Chairman and concurrently General Manager of HENGTONG said: “In the next step, we will focus on researching and developing new-energy bus and building s complete industry chain for new energy industry system.” In pure electric bus, hybrid power bus and gas bus sectors, HENGTONG will insist on historical technology R&D course to reinforce R&D of products, build a complete industry chain, and meanwhile strengthen technical breakthrough in terms of battery, motor and other key components and improve existing product shortages.

Moreover, HENGTONG will also attach importance to expanding customer groups in 2015. Based on consolidating relationships with existing customers, HENGTONG will develop new target market, strengthen communications with target customers, perfect after-sales service system and increase its market shares. In order to effectively improve its image and influence in foreign and domestic new-energy bus markets, HENGTONG will intensively and meticulously farm in the two markets at home and abroad, to complete its network layout in 2015.

HENGTONG has relatively complete strains of new-energy bus, but still has some space to develop that. A senior engineer from HENGTONG noted that, in the next step, HENGTONG will research and develop monocoque new-energy bus and the pure electric bus used for official reception, sightseeing and commuting in the new year. It will also design and develop special new-energy bus and sightseeing bus for some large scenic regions.

Sichuan Western Resources Holdings Co., Ltd. acquiring HENGTONG also provides an important opportunity for HENGTONG to develop new-energy bus in next few years. According to the planning, Sichuan Western Resources Holdings Co., Ltd. plans to enable HENGTONG to achieve an annual output of no less than 15,000 new-energy buses within three years after the acquisition. She Zhenqing, Secretary of Bus Institute of China Highway & Transportation Society, predicted that 30,000 domestic new-energy buses would be expected to be sold in 2015, following which 30,000 new-energy buses will enter into urban bus field every year. This means HENGTONG is expected to make a major breakthrough in new-energy bus market, largely increase market share and meanwhile drive the uprising of corporate whole sales volume in next three years.
